ART GALLERY MANAGEMENT.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —i notice in the account oi tho new'/ Board of Advice, or Hanging Committee, of (ho Auckland Art Gallery that the name of Mr. L. J. Steele has been omitted from the id ol members. Mr. Steele has, I believe, fy»en a membei of the flanging Committee foi several years, and it seems curious tluw * gentleman whose experience of art galleries must be greater than any othei member of t.he committee; should be omitted from «ho new Board, while twr young gentlemen, whose years forbid any long experience in . art matters, should be elected. Perhaps tho Mayor or the City Council will tell us the reason why Mr. Steele': nam-j has been omitted.—l am, etc., PoUEQUOI. I November 19, 1900.
