The Herald estimates the wheat crop of the colony at 15,689,000 bushels, and the exportable surplus at five and a-half million bushels. ' THE SUPPOSED CASES OF PLAGUE. Sydney, November 18. The doctor sent to Singleton reports that the cases are not plague, and the house has' been released from quarantine. THE VICTORIAN MINISTRY. Melbourne, November 18. Under the final rearrangement of portfolios, Mr. Peacock becomes Chief Secretary and Minister foi Industry, Mr. Gurr Postmaster-General and Minister for Education, Mr. Trenwith Minister for Works and Railways, Mr. Burton Minister for Mines, and Messrs. Gillot and MacGregor Ministers without portfolios. The Government representatives in the Legislative Council will be Mr. Wynee, Solicitor-Gene-ral; Mr. W. McCullough, Minister for Defence: and Mr. J. Crooke and Mr. Phillips without portfolios. PENNY POSTAGE AND SIXPENNY TELEGRAMS. Sydney, November 18. Mr. Seddon has cabled to Mr. Crick, the Postmaster-General, congratulating him on his advocacy of penny postage and sixpenny telegrams, adding that the sixpenny telegrams in force in New Zealand have turned out a magnificent success, the messages having increased 60 aud the revenue 25 per cent.
