[FffQJJ OUR OWN CORRESPONDENTS.] \ OHAUPO. feE sale of dairy cows held at Ohaupo by Sir. W. J. Hunter was a most successful one; over 300 were yarded, and they were nearly all of good class. There wa3 great competition for the cows offered by Messrs, Ewen and Jones, which sold as high as £7 Is; but Mr. B. Martyn topped the market getting £7 5s for a good-quality cow. Well-bred heifers sold freely up to £4 12s 6d. Every animal in the yard was disposed of, and the demand was still unsatisfied. Mr. J. Crawford, of Mangere, had several trucks of cows, and these Bold readily up to £6 is 6d. Tho following prices were obtained: Messrs. Ewen and Jone3' Jots, from £5 103 to £7 Is; other lots, from £5 to £7 5s for good sorts; middling, from £3 Ms to £4 10s; springing heifers, from £4 to £4 123 6d. All the factories are now being overhauled and renovated, in readiness for spring work, which will commence en August 1. At tho .Onaapo factory there is every prospect of a largely-increased supply this year, as Mr. Qreenslade, late Mayor of Thames, who has bought a farm in this district, intends to to largely into the dairying business, and expects to have 170 cows coming in within tno next two months. Of these 127 were purchased at Wbangarei and brought up by train a fortnight ago.
