AUCKLAND RUGBY.UNION. The weekly meeting of tho Management Committee of tho Auckland. Rugby Union was held at the Sports Club rooms last evening, ■ Mr. 0. Wells in the chair. J, Ohlson in tho chair.-•' In response to an application from the Thames Union, it was decided to appoint Sir. Oldson to tho control of the gamo between Thames and Waikato on Saturday next. Mr. P. M&ckio was appointed to rofereo in the match Probables v. Possibles at Potter's Paddock. Arrangenionts wcro made for the public schools matches on Saturday as follows:— No. 1 ground: Grafton v. Wellesley-streot ; referee, Mr. Grccnhough. No. 1 ground : Boro3ford-strcot v. Nolsonstreet; referee, Mr: F. Murray. No. 3 ground: Napier-street v. Richmond Road; referee, Mr. Knox. No. 4 ground: Mount Eden v. Parnell; referee, Mr. Blakey. No. 5 ground: Onchunga v. Newton East; refcreo, Mr. Kerr. Devonport have a bye, winning their match against Ponsonby, the latter being disqualified. competition in the " B" section ended last week, and the " A" contest will end on Saturday next. PROBABLES V. POSSIBLES. The sole selcotor of tho Auckland representative teams, Mr. J. Aruoil, has chosen the following players to take part in the practico match on Saturday next, with a viow to the ultimate selection of a team to represent Auckland against the Thames in the annual inter-union match, to bo played at Potter's Paddock on Saturday, August 11: — Probables: Fullback, Donovan; threequarters, H. Smith, D. Hay, and Galloway; five-eighths, Asher; halfback, Kicrnan; wings, Gallagher and Doran; forwards, H. Wilson, A. Wilson, Tyler, Bonolla, McGregor, Irvine, and Brady. Possibles: Fullback, Upton,* tfirecquartcrs, Absolum, Roberts, Paul, Sutherland; fiveeighths, Woods; halfback, Young; wings, Brown and Stanaway; forwards, Cucksoy, McCluskio, Scott (North Shore), Johnston (Suburbs), McKnight, Handcock, Eaton, and Gunson. Emcßgencies: Backs, Pillcnger, Stewart, Dempsey, Magce, Stevens, Wynyard, Taylor, Grey; forwards, Dunning, Beoston, Stirling, Long, Woollcr, Harp. WAIPA RUGBY UNION. At a recent mooting of the Waipa Rugby Union delegates wore present from Paterangi, To Awamutu, Otorohanga, and Kihikiiii Clubs. The secretary reported that as yet no replies had been received from tho Auckland, Piako, and Waikato Rugby Unions, with regard to teams visiting To Awamutu to play inter-union matches. The To Awamutu-Kihikihi match, whioli was postponed by mutual consent, out of respect to the memory of the late Trooper Keith Gorrio, who was an active member of tho latter dub, was fixed for Saturday noxt, at Kihikiiii. Mr. W. Macky was appointed referee. ; The Otorohanga Club, having, notified that it would not bo able to fulfil its engagement with To Awamutu on Saturday next, the match was forfeited to tho latter team. It was decided to send a lotter of condolence to Mr. M. Gorrie on the occasion of his brother'e death in South Africa.

It was decided that the Selection Committee for "rep." teams should consist of three, and that any player chosen who fails to put in an appearance without giving due notioe, .should be disqualified'during the pleasure of the union. ,

Tho New Zealand Rugby Union have decided to inform Now South Wales and Queensland of thoir opinion that each colony should in future finance its own travelling teams. It'was also decided to ask tho Tarannki Union to rohear the charge against Beckett and Callaghan, who were suspended for the season, on tho ground that no notice was given to tho men, who consequently had no opportunity of dofending themselves. THE. CYCLE PATH MOVEMENT. The meeting of the conrmitteo of the Cycle Path League, held on Tuesday. evening, was well attended, Mr. J. W. Shackelford in tho chair.
