[DX TELEGRAPH.— ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Monday. Mi". Piloher cablos that Corporal Peddio, of Brabant's Horso, has joined the Pretoria Constabulary; Trooper L. E. Smith, of Stratford, has died of wounds received on May 6. Major J. Rose was wounded at Bankonkop on July 3 (thoro is no Major Rose known), and Lance-Corporal H. F. Half, slightly wounded at Bethlehem on July 5. (This latter name is evidently mutilated.) < •..' . I ■ ,■ CHnrsTCHURCH, Monday."; The "Major J. Rose,", mentioned in Mr. PilcherV telegram ' from '; Capetown, is probably J. Rose, who was captain of one of the companies of the Third Contingent, but resigned his commission on the voyage to Durban, y.
