1500 BOERS DEFEATED.

London, July 23. The' Boers, with four guns, surrounded and determinedly attacked

Railhead, near Heidelberg, in the Transvaal, on Saturday.

Detachments of the Dublin Fusiliers, Engineers, and the Imperial Yeomanry repulsed the enemy, before reinforcements, despatched by General Hart, arrived.

London, July 22.

The 1500 Boers belonging to De Wet's commando, who recently broke through the British cordon with five

guns, and proceeded in the direction of Lindley, were met near that place by a British force under Col. M. 0. Little. After a sharp engagement the Boers were defeated and broken into two sections. The British casualties were slight.
