Thk Hon. A. J. Cndraan was a passenger from Wellington on Saturday by the s.s. Takapuna. A Dunedin telegram states that Daniel Campbell, for many years printer on the Daily Times, died on Saturday morning. Mr. Alfred Scandrett. accountant of the New Zealand Insurance Company, at Invercaxgill, has been promoted 1o a similar position for the company at Natal. Mr. Donne, the new district manager of the Auckland railways, arrived from Wellington by the Takapuna on Saturday, and enters on his new duties to-day. Mr. D. Ci'oldie, Mayor of Auckland, who has been attending the meetings of the Municipal Conference at Wellington, returned to Auckland bv the Takapuna on Saturday. Mr. W. J. Napier. M.H.R.. arrived from Wellington on Saturday by the Takapuna. Mr. Napier has come up to Auckland on urgent professional business, and returns to Wellington at the end of this week.
