Laurie, Dr. Laiskloy (skip), 23, v. Garland, J. Kilgour (skip), 12. - ,—4_! ENGLISH CRICKET. R. E. FOSTER TOPS THE CENTURY TWICE. By Telegraph.—Press Association.—Copyright. London, July 20. The cricket match at Lords, Gentlemen v. Players, was drawn. In tho first innings the Gentlemen scored 297, and in tho second 339, while the Players' first effort realised 129, and their second innings 502 for tho loss of eight wickets. R. E. Foster, for Gentlemen, scored 102, not out, and 13b. [Mr. R. E. Foster is a member of tho Oxford University eleven, and was last year secretary of the school club. Ho is ono of the leading batsmen in tho first eleven, and stood well up in the batting averages last year. He is ovideutly in good form again this season.] PAHI REGATTA AND SPORTS. A meeting of tho Pahi Regatta and Sports Committeo was held in Pahi on July 11. There was a very full attendance of members present. Mr. H. H. Chadwick occupied tho chair. A very largo amount of correspondence was road and considered. The dale of tho regatta was fixed for December 11 next. Tho tendor of Mr. Reihana Kcna, was accepted for providing musio on tho date of the event, in tho form of a native brass band. Mr. T. de Labrosso was appointed starter for the athletic events, and Messrs. H. H. Chadwick, J. Now, and T. do Labrosso, handicappors. ■ Tho next meeting is to be held on August 23.—[Own Correspondent.]
