[by TELEGRAPH - .—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Tuesday. Mr. Dutiiie has been chosen president of the Chamber of Commerce for tho ensuing year.

The Supreme Court has authorised the sale, by the Midland Railway Company, of a forgo block of timber land in the Ohira survey district, West Coast.

It is now stated that tho report that young Williams had returned is incorrect. The report was apparently based on a telegram to the police, stating that Williams had been recognised at Hawera, on a train going South. Search is still being made for the missing man.
