[by TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Thursday. Mb. McGowan has been inspecting the mining fields in the vicinity of Duntroon and Maerewhenua. He is now in Dunedin, and is expected to reach Christchurch on Friday evening. If time permits he will visit the West Coast, but the early departure of the Premier for the South Sea Islands may disturb present arrangements.
