It was an excellent start, Fairy Prince showing tho way from Symmetry, Cremona, Severity, and Sequence. At the turn Symmetry, Little Tartar, Nambucca, and Longford displaced Fairy Prince, and Symmetry maintained the lead to the posts, with Aco of Diamonds and La Carabine in the first division. At the six furlongs Symmetry foil away beaten. Inquirer going in the van, with Ace of Diamonds, Fairy Prince, Cremona, Goldsmith, and Hi Hi in attendance. When well into the straight Soverity, who was improving his position, raced to tho front at the St. Leger stand from Ace of Diamonds, Fairy Prince, and La Carabine. The latter, moving up fast on the outside, came away, winning by throe lengths, there being a neck between the second and third horses. Hi Hi fell at the half-distance. Time, 3m. 31|s.
