MINISTER FOR EDUCATION
[BY TELEGRAPH.PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Stratford, Saturday, The Minister for Education received a reryv hearty welcome here on Thursday. [ Ha, was met at the train, and driven in a cart] riage and four round the district, resting at! Midhurst, Stanley, and Toko schools, and briefly addressing* the children at each place.] At Toko the Minister was entertained aS lunch, about 30 gentlemen sitting down with him, including the member for the district, Mr. Syme (who was in the chair), and five members of the Taranaki Education Board. The party returned to Strati ford High School, where the Minister pre* sented prizes, and unveiled the honour board, in presence of a large concourse ;of ■ people, The same evening a very successful banquet was held, the Mayor of Stratford in the chair. The banquet was largely attended,; the visitors including the Hons. Kelly and Jennings, Mr. McDiarmid (chairman of the New Plymouth High School Board of Go. vernors), and many members of the local bodies, education boards, and school com* mittees. The Minister is staying in the district during Easter. He will visit New. Plymouth on Monday.
