ENTERTAINMENTS AND MEETINGS.

DIX'S GAIETY COMPANY. This evening a change of programme will' be presented by Mr. P. It. Dix's Company, at the City Hall. Tho favourito Williams Quartette appear in new turns. Miss Annelta Bodin and Mr. Johnny Collins will give the famous sketch "Irish Courtship." Mr. Prank Yorke, Mr. Walter Rivers, Misses Marlow, and Flo Williams will appear in new songs, etc, " High Life on Deck" will bo given for the last time. A new finale and farce are also included. On Monday a now military first part, entitled " On Guard," will lie. staged, in which the lady members in khaki, together with the rest of tho company, will go through a military drill, etc. No doubt there will bo crowded holiday audiences, as the present standard of "The Gaiety" is very high.

UPPER THAMES WESLEYAN CIRCUIT. .

[FROM OUR own correspondent.] Paeroa, Friday. Anniversary services in connection with the Waihi, Paeroa, and Karangahako Weslcyan Churches were held on Sunday last. At Waihi the services were conducted by the Rev. A. Mitchell, of Coromandel. The Paoroa Church was beautifully decorated for the occasion by a strong committeo of ladies, composed of Mesdames Smith, Miller, and Misses Hamilton, Vuglar, Saisley, Mullinger, and Buchanan. The services were conducted by tho Rev. W. Tuck (Wang'ahui) in the morning, and the Rev. W. S. Howie at night, i the congregation at the latter service being I very large. , Miss Vuglar ably presided at, the ! organ, and gave two organ solos. At Kara- ; ngahako the musical part of tho services was I in the hands of a choir and orchestra, under I Mr. S. Adams, conductor, with Miss Mayall jas organist. During the week the anniversary celebrations were continued by a series of I entertainments, the first of which' was held | at Waihi on Monday, and the second at Paeroa on Tuesday. At Paoroa occasion j was taken to publicly farewell the Rev. W. | S. Bowie, who is leaving for Waipawa, and ! to welcome tho two new circuit ministers, I viz., the Rev. Weathcrall (Waihi), W. Greeni Blade (Karangahako). A concert and soiree ' was held at Karangahake on Wednesday i night. The contributors to an excellent proi gramme were Miss Vuglar, organ solo; duet, "The Sea of Glass," Miss Smythe and Mr. I Hilton; solo, "Queen of Angels," Miss I Smythe; solos, "The Flight of Ages and; i "The Old Cathedral," Miss ludehope (Auckland); solo. " Calvary," Mr. Hilton, and solos, " Behold I Stand at the Door and "Nazareth," Mr. J. Roid. Addresses were I given by the Revs. S. Griffith, (chairman), Rule (Presbyterian). Weatherall, and Greenslade, whilst Mr. Taylor (superintendent of tho unsectarian Sunday-school) welcomed the j new ministers in a brief but appropriate adj dress. ' . ■ .
