BOARD OF EDUCATION.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir,— Tuesday's issue you published & letter from "A School Committeeman,' protesting against Mr. Mcleod's notice of motion re monthly meetings of the Board of Education. I submit Mr. Mcl.ood is to be commended. In the past, the' Board has been a kind of refuge for fossils and muddlers, who, I doubt not, could manage to talk away every afternoon in the week. Mr. McLeod belongs to the new order; he is a new member, but will, 1 doubt not, soon make his influence felt at the Board's meetings. At the Ifst meeting he gave notice of three motions, and will probably pass them all. _. If members will but speak briefly and to the point, one meeting a month is, • without dcubt, ample, and the reform will result in the saving of public money.—l am, etc - • . Mil Newton, April 11.
