The Union Company';! mail steamer Moana, Captain M. Carey, arrived from Sydney yesterday afternoon, anil after landing her mails at Motuihi anchored off Calliope Dock. Mr. G. A. Hodson, the purser, reports: The Moana left Sydney at 1.28 p.m., and cleared the Heads at 2.18 p.m. on the 14th inst.; rounded the North Cape at 2.5 a.m. on the 18th, arrived at Motuihi at 5 p.m. the same date, and anchored in the stream at 6.30 p.m. Experienced strong north-east winds and rough sea for the first !!4 hours out; moderating to variable winds and smooth seas to arrival. The Moana leaves for Apia, Honolulu, and San Francisco at noon to-day. A ferry steamer will leave the ferry tee at 10.30 a.m. to take off passengers, mails, and heavy luggage, and another steamer at 11.45 a.m. to take off the balance of passengers, light luggage, and mails. NAVAL NEWS. The flagship Royal Arthur and H.M.s. Lizard and Karralmtta were at Jervois Bay on the 14th inst. The Mohawk has left Sydney for New Zealand, to relieve the Tauranga on this division. The Tauranga will leave for Sydney as soon as the Mohawk arrives.
