MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS. Hauraki No. 2 (Coromandel, January 20h Since last report I have extended drive Bft, Thn country is of first-class description for gold, being full of mineral seame and small flinty veins. I bolievo tho reef will soon bo to hand. Alpha (Waitekauri, January 20): Durin? past week vory satisfactory progress has Ira mr.do with the extension of western crosscut at No. 4 level, duo to t-ho conducive character of the country we aro passing through, which is of right description for both gold-bearing lodes and quick progress. I pointed out in previous report that anything in the sh.ipo of lodo matter is responsible for fair prospects of precious motal, so that the chances of our meeting with something payable in this direction aro great indeed. Tho level has bejm advanced 25ft for the week. The retimbering of tho main level is proceeding, 85ft having been accomplished. Surface prospotting in tho Rainbow section will probably bo resumed next week.

Wnihi Extended (Waihi, January 22): During the latter part of the, week boring was rather slow, owin? to tho borings not coming up. Another method had to Iμ? adopted, tho Wings boinff pumped into tho rods. When lifted, these boring proved that we had been going through a rubbly quartz. What this is I am not in a position to say at present; however, it tends to show that wo aro in the vicinity of quartz rocf. Tho boro is down 320 ft. Haur.iki Associated (Coromandel, January 22): Work is still confined to sloping from the winze intermediate drive on the foohvall leader. During tho past week the leader has been pinched very small, but what quark there is is of very fair quality, and nieo dabs of gold have been loft showing in tho back of tho atope. Another stope will bo commenced to-morrow, and if the leader will afjain mako a decent size wo shall (jet another patch, as tho country is everything to bo desired. Six tributers am at present working on the surface blocks, but are not meoting with anything rich.
