DIRTY STREETS.

TO THE EDITOR.

Permit me to protest against the prosent ineffective watering of Queen-street and adjacent streets. To-day blizzards of dust are blinding the citizens, destroying their clothes and poisoning their food exhibited in the city shops. The water carts should be kept constant}' going all through the summer days, and not as at present at particular hours. Moreover, Quay-street, Customstreet, and all side streets should be well watered to keen tho dust from blowing into Queen-streirt.—l am, etc., Akaiuna.

Another correspondent, "Observer," writes complaining of the dirty state of the streets, and the offensive smolls arising therefrom.
