GILES' COLLEGE SPORTS.

The annual sports gathering of Mr. Harlo Giles' Business Collogo was hold yesterday 011 the Domain Cricket Ground. The mooting was favoured with fino weather and a largo attendance of students and their friends. ; Tea and refreshments were dispensed by Mrs. Giles and the girls of the collego, and I Hunter's band, which was in attendance, played a number of tuneful selections. One of tho attractions of the afternoon was an exhibition bicyclo ride by W. Reynolds, the promising Auckland cyclist, who rode a mile in tho fast time of 2m. 30s. Somo clever trick riding was shown by Hendry. In the cricket ball competition a record throw was put up by one of the boys, P. Batkin, with 93yds 2ft. F. R. Mason and L. Todd tied for (lie college cup, and will run off for the prize next week, as will also P. R. Mason and C. Olliff, who ran a dead heat in the cricketers' race. Messrs. J. J. Holland, J. 11. M. Carpenter, C. J. E. Challis, 0. Humphreys, J. Todd, and Dr. McArthur were judges. Mr. George Smith started the events with promptitude, and the times were taken by Messrs. A. Kolin and C. P. Green. The members of the committee wero Messrs. F. R. Mason, A. Alison, P. Batkin, J. Carpenter, W. Spratt, and L. Todd, and Mr. L. S. Lazarus discharged tho dutios of secretary ably.
