This afternoon, at three o'clock, the grand conversazione and salo of work at the Tabernacle schoolroom will be opened by Mr. Theo. Cooper. In addition to the stalls, which are laden with a largo quantity of very salable articles, there arc various attractive items in the way of concerts, an orchestra, and amusing competitions, such as nail-driving by ladies, and hat-trimming by gentlemen, art gallery, and refreshment stalls. The concert*! will be hold in the main building, the pipeorgan being brought into nee, A piano recital will bo given this afternoon. The profit? will be devoted to tho school's contribution to the church debt fund. _ . A grand concert and social is being organised by Mr. P. Quinlan, to be given in St. Benedict'!. Hall next Friday evening, in aid of the St. Vincent do Paul Society and the St. Benedict's Hall fund. The St, Vincent ; de Paul Society is formed fo. the _ ob- ; ject of assisting, 'lie pool of all denominations, and seeing that the leading vocalists of Auckland are taking part in tho concert, it is hoped there will be a full house to assist this worthy i cauig.
