POLLARD'S OPERA COMPANY. ; The final performance of tho Pollard's season was given last- evening at the Opera House, wlieh "In Town" was repeated before a , largo attendance. The piece went much more evenly than on Saturday night, and the merit of tho performance was recognised by hearty appituse. The company leave for the South to-day, and during their Wellington season next month will produce "The Geisha." THE GAIETY COMPANY. The members of this talented company rei pealed their Saturday's programme last evenI ing to an appreciative audience, and a capital 1 performance resulted. The old favourites— | Miss Lottie Lome, and Messrs. Albert Mc- , Ivisson, Arthur Albert, Frank Yorko, Fred. | Leslie, jun., and the Lingard Sisters—were all | greeted with expressions of approval, and , the concluding farce by the company was on i 1 a par with the rest of the performance. The j ; programme will bo repeated this evening. j ! MUSICAL UNION CONCERT. j I The Musical Union, which was inaugurated j j during the year, gavo the final concert of tho : 1 present season at the Choral Hall last even- \ i ing, when there was a good attendance of i I the public. A mixed programme was sub- ; | mitted, the first part consisting of Cowen'a ! cantata, "The Sleeping Beauty," in which the solos wore taken by Miss A. Lorrigan (tho Princess), Miss Lynch (Wicker Fay), Mr. A. L. Edwards (Prince), and Mr. W. J. Gunn (King], Tho cantata was on the whole well interpreted, though there was a noticeable weakness among the basses, and in tho orJjiiostra there was a good deal of discord among the wood winds. The orchestral inI terlude, " Maidenhood and Drowns of Love," and the choral interlude, "Sloop in Bower and Hall," were good numbers, the latter being particularly taking. Miss Lynch was not altogether succcssful with her solos, her voice being lacking in power and resonance, although she sang carefully, her solo " Spring from the Earth" being her best number. Miss A. Lorrigan rose to the requirements of her part, and sang with clearness and purity of intonation. Her solo, Whither Away, My Heart," was beautifully sung, and the duet with Mr. Edwards, " I Hear You Call," was also a charming number. Mr. Edwards sang with his usual taste and expressiveness, his best solo boing, "Light, Light at Last." The orchestra, which, though small, is compact, ' played Auber's " Chev.il do Bronze" overture capably, under tho leadership of Moiis. de Willimoff, "and also played the march from Raff's symphony, " Loonore." The wellknown "Bells of St. Michael's Tower,' and " Now Tramp o'er Moor and Fell," were well sung by tho chorus. Mr. Edwards sang i "Queen of tho Earth" very well, and in reI sponse to an encore substituted "Mary." I Mr. Arthur Towsey conducted with his usual 1 ability, and Miss Laura Haven was at the i piano. AUCKLAND TYPOGRAPHICAL ASSOCIATION. A special meeting of the Auckland Typoi graphiral Association was held on Saturday ! evening in tho courtroom, Foresters' Hall, to [ consider ,1 number of new rules drafted by tho | Boar.!,'in acordanea with a resolution passed ! at the I alf-yeurly meeting. There was a good i attendance. The Hon. W. T. Jennings (prei si (lent) oerupied the chair.
