The spirit of adventure or patriotism was strongly manifested by an InvercargiJl youth cn a jrecent night, when he adopted a most determined plan to reach the Bluff, where, he imagined, he could-get on board tho Wniwera for the Cape, and from thenco make his way to the Transvaal. A resident at Seaward Moss (says the Southland Times) was awakened out of his sleep at four o'clock on Tuesday morning by vigorous knockings at the door. The wanderer, when he was invited to enter, told his host that he was making for the Bluff, and had lost the road. As water was oozing out of every part of r.is clothing, and the morning was a cold one, he was given a bed, and his clothes were dried.
