THE BOER LOSSES.
COMMANDANT VILJOEN KILLED. GENERAL JOUBERT'S REPORT. Pretoria, October 24. General Joubert has informed President Kruger that Commandant Meyer lost 10 killed and 25 wounded. He blames Commandant Erasmus for the Boer reverse. Durban, October 23. Commandant Pretorius and Colonel Shiel, chief organiser of the Boers' armaments, were wounded and made prisoners at Elands Laagte. Commandant Ben J. .Viljoen was killed. Later reports show that General Kock survives, but his son was killed. INCIDENTS OF THE FIGHTING. The British captured six guns at Impati Hill. Rain and fog stopped General Joubert's attack on Saturday, which was intended to anticipate Major-General French clearing out General Rock's forces from Elands Laagte. A 14-year-old trumpeter belonging to the sth Lancers shot three Boers with a revolver at Elands Laagte. Three Boer guns were captured at Elands Laagte..
