SAMARITAN NEEDLEWORK GUILD.
The last sewing bee of the season of the Samaritan Needlework Guild took place on Wednesday last at the T.W.C.A. Rooms. The attendance was not so good as usual, no doubt owing to the inclement weather, The guild tender their heartfelt thanks to all the ladies who have so kindly worked during the season, and for gifts of clothing and material which from time to time they have so generously given. Several anonymous parcels were received oA Wednesday, showing that the "cry of the children" is responded to by many kind friends, apart from the earnest workers of the guild, and to them their grateful thanks are due. Further contributions for the guild should be sent in not later than the 31st' inst., as the case for London will be sent off as soon as possible aftpr that date. 1500 yards all-wool bengaline, now so fashionable, in newest shades, Is 9£d, Is lljd, 2s 6d, and 2s lid. Pretty and exclusive novelties in single dress lengths, 15s 9d to Smith and Caughey, dress merchants, etc Arrived: Five cases of Irish linens, special designs in double damask tablecloths, and serviettes to match. Unbleached damask, by tho yard, Is; bleached damask, Is 3d and Is 6d.—D.S.C. The latest, in floor coverings: The new sanitary linoleum, very pretty . patterns, at Smith and Caughey's new showrooms.
