[BT TELEGRAPH. association.] Dunedin, Wednesday. Dr. Brows has resigned the chairmanship of the Education Board and his seat on that body, owing to illness in his family. Mr. Ramsay has been elected chairman. Timaru, Wednesday, At an inquest on a small fire at Ueraldine, when the sample-room of a hotel was damaged, the jury found that the fire had been wilfully caused, and added, a rider blaming members of the fire brigade for the objectionable manner in which they gave evidence, and for obstructing the police in making inquiries/ Wellington, Wednesday. The Wellington Garrison Band is still about £100 short of the amount required to pay their expenses to the Bathurst band contest.
