ElectoralpONSONBY WARD ELECTION. TO THE RATEPAYERS AND HOUSEHOLDERS. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN,I beg to intimate that 1 am a Candidate for re-election to the City Council My record of the nast is known to you. My practical . knowledge has proved very useful as your representative in relation to roads and drainage and the improved sanitary condi- ' tion of some sections of channelling in our Ward. , , If you do me the honour to re-elect me, my policy will be:— 1 To obtain as speedily as possible an up-to-date Electric Tramway Service. 2. To oppose the Loan and Empowering Bill now before Parliament. Any further borrowing means an increase of rates, notwithstanding the statement of the President of the Ratepayers Association to the contrary. It simplj means an increase of £4000 added to the £27,000 per annum already paid lor m- , tcrest and sinking fund, etc. 3. To cease tinkering with our present water supply, and to obtain a more liberal supply from beyond the reach of contamination, on the basis of the recent investigations and report to the Council for a service by gravitation from the Nihotupu, and thus put and end to the vexatious practice of restricting the use of water when most needed by the Citizens.
