INDUSTRIAL DISPUTE
A DISPUTE was filed j'etprdaj*, before Mr. R. ft. Thomas, clerk of awards to the Conciliation Board, botmen the Auckland Curriers' Industrial Unim anil the following employers:—Messrs. Inland Bros., Vulcan Lane; Sutherland and Co., Cook and Groy Streets: Warnoik Bros, Durham-street; I'. .lugger and Co., Grey-street; E. Astley and Son, Albert-strict; R. anil W. Hellaby, Shortland-street; C. Suttie and Co., Oneliunga; A. Daiald. Richmond: and F. Gittos, Avondae South. The date of hearing the dispute lias been fifed for Thursday, the 14th inst.,at ten a.m. Mr. Jas. Regan will represent lie union, ljhose statement of wages is as folows: — I Clause 1: Tie working,'hours for curriers shall not csced 45 5 per reek; the week to end at twelvt o'clock noon on Saturday. Clause 2: ill journeymen curriers other than on piccerork to receive a weekly wage of not less thai £2 15s. Clause 3: ill wages to' be paid in full. Clause 4: \ 0 journeyman on piecework to exceed £3 ? a limited weekly wage. Clause 5: ill overtime shall be paid at the rale of tine and a quarter. Clause 6: )nly two classes of workers shall be journeymen and apprenClause 7: ipprmitices to be employed at the late ot lie to every three journeymen, or fraction kereof, providing such journeymen be empivcd two-thirds full time, lie term of servce to be five years, and to be legally indetured.
