The weather was oppressive when the gamo was resumed to-day, and the wicket was difficult for the batsmen. There was a good attendance. The English innings closed beforo one o'clock for 183. The Australians, with a deficit of 33 in the first innings, went to the wickets again, and at the luncheon adjournment had scored 60 'for the loss of three wiokets. When play ceased for the day, the Australians had scored 254 for the loss of five wickets, Darling being 113 (not out).
