PERSONAL ITEMS.
Me. W. Crowther left Wellington yesterday morning on a short visit to Auckland. Mr. D. D. Hyde, the Government Poultry Expert, left for the South yesterday morning, by the s.s. Takapuna. Mr. Thos. Mackenzie left yesterday by the s.s. Takapuna for Wellington, and thence he goes on to Christehurch to have a conference with his directors.
Mr. J. A. Subritzky, and his son, Captain H. Subritzky, left for Wellington by the Takapuna yesterday to give evidence before the Public Petitions Committee, regarding the use of oil-engines on board of vessels.
MISSING FRIENDS. The following inquiries for missing friends are from Lloyd's Weekly, of July 16 : — Thomas Morgan, left London for New Zealand 22 years ago. Daughter Polly asks. William Wright, of Marshchapel, left Great Grimsby 37 years back, for Australia; supposed to have gone to New Zealand. Sister Eliza asks.
James James, late of Rothersthorpe, Northampton, is believed to be in New Zealand. Brother Benjamin asks. Datfd Clements, sailed for New Zealand in 1876 ; last heard of from Auckland. Sister Jennie asks.
