CROWN LANDS BOARD.

The Crown Lands Board met yesterday, Mr. Gerhard Mueller, Commissioner, presiding, Summary: The summary of lands disposed of from June 17 to August 19 Bhowed a total of 21,706 aores 18 roods taken up by 88 selectors, and the amount • of timber sold 662,946 ft, for which £253 18s 6d was paid. Mortgages' Messrs. Beale and Beale wrote applying for consent of the Board to a mortgage from J. B, McDonald to W. Ledingham of lots 91, 92, and 93, Parish of Makarau. It was resolved that the approval of tho Board would be granted if tho interest charged were reduced from 10 per cent, to 8 per cent. An application from J. Stewart for consent to mortgage section 31, Block XI., Opuawhanga, and seotion 2, Block 1., Whangarei, from W. J. Drevor to R. N. Harden and E. J. Harden, loan £150, at 7 per ccnt., was approved. An application on behalf of John Old to mortgage to T. S. and H. Weston section 2, Block V., Awakino East, loan £300, at 7 per cent., was granted.

Duplicate Lease: R. H. Bowman applied for the issue of a duplioate lease over sections 3, 4, and 5, Block n., Herekino. Granted. Duplicate leases were also granted to C. F. Griffiths, lot 233, Parish of Owhiwa; C. L. Sutton, sections 3, 4, 5, 6, and 9, Parish of Karamu; and E. W. Davey, section 4, Block XI., Hukerenui, subject to paymont of fees. Removal of Timber: The Kauri Timber Company asked that an' extension of time might bo granted them for removing timber from Blocks I. and 11., Girls' High School endowment, and offered in return to grant road rights necossary to bring out tho frimlw from Blocks V. and' Vl'J. It was resolved that an extension of time be granted, on condition that tho company give, freo of charge, tho road rights necessary for the removal of the timber on Blocks V. and VI.

Timber Flotage Licensos: Mossrs. M. Bradley and Co. applied for a timber-flotage license over tho Hoteo River. Granted, subject to the payment of fee and compliance with conditions. Lioenses were also granted to H. Lane, Waikare River; and Fraser Bros., Woiau and Pukewhau streams. A renewal of timber-flotage license over the Waiwera River and a transfer of license to Wenzel Lambert was granted, subject to the usual conditions.

Return of Deposit: Mr. Walker applied for return of deposit on certain land selected by him in Parish of Apata, which he had applied for, in order to secure coal supposed to be under the land. Finding that this was not allowed, he applied to surrender and get his money back. The application was declined.

Lease: The lease of a grazing run of 3900 acres in Bay of Islands County was granted, at a capital value of 6s per acre. A year-to-year lease of Flat Island and Broken Island, Great Barrier, containing about 150 acres, was granted at £8 per annum. Mining Districts Land Occupation Act: Applications under this Act were granted to the following on the recommendation of the Warden:—M. Davies, 50 acres, Block 1., Thames; Hannah Fleming, 60 acres, Block 1., Ohinemuri: Mary Colebrook, 30 acres, Block XV., Ohinemuri; J. McCarten, 7 acres, Block 11., Coromandel; C. Warren 100 acres, Blocks VI. and VI.A, Whitianga!
