LACROSSE.

The lacrosse championship matches were continued on Saturday afternoon, in the Domain, when there was a good muster of players, and tho ground in excellent condition.

Tlio match Pawnees v. Iroquois, lifter an exciting and keenly-contested game, resulted in ft win for the former team by 2 goals. Riohardson (Iroquois) and Eagleton (Pawnees) faced off, the latter securing and passing to the Pawnees' attack division. The Iroquois defoneo men, however, got possession of the ball, which was worked down into the Pawnee's' territory, whore play was centred for a few minutes, until Draper secured and shot a neat goal for the Iroquois. The ball being again faced off, even play ensued until tho conclusion of the first spell. With a change of goals the Pawnees played up strongly, and showed good combination on tho attack, J. R. Lundon at last breaking through the Iroquois' defence and drawing first blood for his team. E. Bradley shortly afterwards registered the Pawnees' second goal, by a welljudged shot, the Pawnees thus obtaining a lead of a goal up to half-time. Soon after the commencement of the second half Major scored for the Iroquois, and the respective scores remained even until the conclusion of the third twenty minutes' play. Want of condition then became noticeable on the part of the Iroquois, and they played practically without any combination, the attack players failing "to mark" tho defence men falling back too much. ,T. R. Lundon scored two goals, and W. McCoy one for the Pawnees in this spell, which gave the team a decisive lead. Within the last five minutes' play Richardson (Iroquois) shot a splendid goal, and a final effort to win the honours of the day was made by the Iroquois, but without success. The scores were, consequently, at the call of time: Pawnees, 5 goals; Iroquois, 3 goals. The best team won, the Pawnees' victory being due to superior condition and better combination than that of their opponents, combined with the dashing play of Lundon, McCoy, and E. Bradley, particularly the first two mentioned. Mr. Stewart made an efficient referee.

_ The Dakotas and Mohawks tried conclusions, the latter team being severely defeated. Almost from the opening face off the Mohawks scored, Morrin passing to Anderson, who registered a neat goal. The Dakotas, however, quickly reversed matters, the respective scores at half-time being: Dakotas, 4 goals; Mohawks, 1. In the second half the Mohawks failed to increase their score, while the Dakotas invreased theirs by 7 goals. The match therefore resulted in a • win for the Dakotas by 11 goals to 1. For the winners goals were obtained by Ward (6), Brown (3), Patterson (1), and Cook (1). The Dakotas had the decided advantage of having one man more than their adversaries..
