BRITAIN'S OFFER. By Telegraph.— Association,—Copyright. London, May 5. Tiie Pacific cable report is published. Britain's subsidy is limited to 20 pars., Mr. Chamberlain regards the arrangement as liberal and a proof of the desire to co-operate with the colonies. The Standard considers it a mistake for Britain not to participate in the cost of the construction of the cable, and that the colonies are not likely to regard the offer as a. liberal one.
