TOTALISATOR ODDS.

[EI TELEGRAM.—r-BESS ASSOCIATION.] Napier, Monday. A. E. Eagleton, hairdresser, was to-day fined £20 and costs for laying totalisator odds, and Louis Freedraan, his assistant, £5, for aiding and abetting. Constables Ton and Baker proved the case. The defenco was that they wero liable as accomplices, and that their evidence was inadmissible without corroboration. The S.M. ruled against the contention, and gave certificates of indemnity to the constables.
