An impromptu meeting was held at the Criterion Hotel for the purpose of discussing the expected approaching visit of the Governor to the Thames district, and it was decided to ask the County Council to invite , His Excellency to visit Ohinemuri, and to suggest the methods of reception. A com- .' mittee of those present, with power to add , to their number, was appointed to arraiigo another meeting and to carry out any proposals that may be decided upon.
