THE CITY BURGESS ROLLS.

As a sequel to the recent inquiry with reference to the South Ward roll, a report oh the burgess rolls for the other wards of the city by Mr. E. Mowbray, the rate collector, was presented to the City Council last night, Mr. Mowbray, in his report, stated that lie had carefully checked the burgess rolls with the valuation books. The report is as fol-low.:-The North Ward rol, with the exception of one name, which has been omitted, is absolutely correct, llie East Ward burgess roll has 45 names appearing on it which are not on the valuation roll, while two names on the valuation roll are omitted from the burgess roll, The Ponsonby Ward has two names appearing on the burgess roll which are not on the valuation roll, and two names are omitted .rom the burgess roll. Grafton Ward one name omitted. Karangahape correct.
