WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL.

Wbuikotox, Thursday, TriE City Council to-night finally sanctioned the high-level tramway scheme, and granted a site of half an acre in the Botanical Gardens for the station. One condition is that the city can take over the tramway after 21 years. The Council rejected the proposal to reserve the Royal Oak site for town hall purposes, on tho ground that the cost would be too great.
