[FBOM OUR OWN COBBESrONDENTS.J OHAUPO, Wednesday. AJ3ODT 500 head of cattle were yarded for Mr. W J Hunter's sale yesterday. Nearly all were of good quality and in fair condition/ Grown steers were well represented, loung atopk were also numerous, and realised advanced prices. Them was a good muster of dairy cows, some of good quality. The tendency of the market was upwards. Tho following are the quotations:-Dairy cows, from a i osi to £4 10s. with limited demand; springing neifers, up to £3 10s; yearling bulls from 2 to 3i guineas; grown steers from £3 12s to £5 ss; three-year steers, £2 12s M to £3, two-vear steers. £2 12b 6d; yearlings, mueod eeYesTom £1 5s to £1 9s 6d; 18-month steer,, £2 2s 6d; calves, mixed, low condition. £11. 6d; yearling heifers £1 2s; empty cows, £1 10s to .£2; do., fresh-condition, £3 Bs, fat steers from £5 16s to £6 10s; fat cows, from £3 Uβ to S. About 1500 sheep were yarded, all of a good class, many of them fat Crossbred wethers, from Pukitith Pat, from Us 10d to 12s 2d; lonifwool wethers, Us 4d; fat owes 10s 6d; small hoggets, 6s 6d; owes and 3s from 98 Id to 11s 9d; fat hoggets, 10s 2d i)Ui'ing Saturday's thunderstorm one settler lost four calves and three pigt They were struck bv lightning.
