Pupil Teachers: The Teachers' Selection Committee reported as under on tho motion of Mr.,Muir, to the effect "That the class designated ex-pupil teachers be not omployod by the Board, and that pupil teachers who have completed their term of apprenticeship and obtained certificates shall have their names forwarded to school committees when suitable vacancies occur:—l. In regard to pupil teachers employed under tho regulations dated February, 1897, the duration of their engagement is already definitely settled by clause 7 of (lie said regulation, viz. • Pupil teachers will be engaged for a period of not less than tinea and α-half years, and m every case the engagement of a pupil teacher shall terminate when he or she has completed a full year in the status or rank of a fourth-year pupil teacher. , 2.
