TEA MES-PAEROA RAILWAY.
[ill TEUSOIUPII.— OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Thames, Wednesday. Matters in connection with the progress of the Thames-Paeroa railway are proceeding very satisfactorily, and the line will be completed for running the ballast engine into Shortliind early next week. The bridge over the Hape Creek, near Shortland Wharf, will be ready for the laying of rails by Friday, after which there will be nothing to prevent the speedy completion of the line right into Gnihamstown. The erection of the station buildings, both at Shortland and Grahamstown, is to be proceeded with at once. The carpenters now at work upon the Hape Creek bridge will commence the buildings at Shortland cither on Friday or Saturday, whilst at Grahiimstown carpenters are now at work erecting a workshop for themselves. The principal station, of course, will be at Grahamstown, the terminus of the line, where, in addition to the usual station building and platform, will also be erected a large goods shed, coalshcd, water-tank, engine-shed, and tlie stationmastcr's cottage, together with a loading bank. At Shortland there will be the station building and platform, and also a goods-shed, cattle yard, and loading bank. It is understood that instructions have been issued to the effect that everything must be in readiness for ordinary train traffic by Christmas. It is currently rumoured here that Government purposes building a wharf at Kopu, in order to provide for a regular time-table service between the railway and the steamers from Auckland.
