In a paper recently read before a Farmers' Club in New York, the writer gave some interesting figures of the estimated value of different products in America, showing what a large amount the poultry industry produces. Value of cotton crop 259194 040 Value of wheat crop 23719 MS Value of oat crop IC3.CSS.OGS Value of potato crop T5.954.901 Value of wool crop 38,110,459 'As showing the way in which the State officials regard this branch of farming, Mr. Secretary Coburn says:—"Prices of poultry and eggs in 1896 were not high, but the year's surplus sold from Kansas farms amounted to within 2 per cent, of the total value of all milch cows owned in the great cattle-raising regions of Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, and Utah, more than the value of all cattle owned in Oklahoma, with the swine of Colorado, Monatana, Nevada, and Wyoming added; for about the same value of all the sheep in the six New England States, and those of New York and South Carolina added; nearly as much as all (lie sheep owned in the Texas are worth; or as much as the value of all the corn ot New England, with that of North Dakota, Montana, and Wyoming thrown in ; for good measure." '
