[BY telegraph. association.] Dcnedin, Thursday. In the Southland case, Fleming v. the Bank of New Zealand, Mr. Justice I'onnefather has intimated that he will give judgment _ tomorrow on the point whether there had been any contract. Four sections on the _ Pomahaka Estate, thrown open for application, have been taken in. In one case there wore two applicants. The death is announced of Mr. Adam Begg, a pioneer settler; also the death of the widow of the late Captain Fraser, formerly deputysuperintendent. The insurances on the buiclings and stock destroyed by fire last night are: Deacon, £150 on stock of two buildings, in South Britisn; Thompson, £100 on stock in the same office; Rell, £200 in the Norwich Union; Weir, £20 in the Alliance; Lew Hoy, owner of Thomson anil Bell's premises, £45 on each in the Alliance.
