THE TALISMAN RETURN. 491 TONS YIELD £1160.

The return for the crushing at the Now Zealand Talisman mine shows a yield of 16550z of gold from 491 tons of ore, tho estimated value boing £1160. The treatment of some of the vats charged during the month was not completed when the return caino to hand, and this, in a largo measure, accounts for the low recovery. It lias also to be stated, in this connection, that ore of an unusually refractory nature has been passed through during the month. The extraction obtained per ton does not, therefore, by any means represent the assay valuo of tho ore obtainable in the mine.
