! . THE Y.M.C.A. TO THE EOITOIi. Sir,—ln his somewhat sneering letter on tho piiblic movement for giving a public expression of sympathy to Miss Ethel Baker, your correspondent ''Gaston Morvale" implies that the promoters of it aro " tho YoungMen's and Young Women's Christian Associations" which of course ho intends to bo- ' very offensive. Permit mo to inform your correspondent, with the greatest respect for those, institutions, that this movement has m connection with them either in origin, personnel, or conduct of the proceedings, bub merely engaged their hall for the purpose of. its meetings as the most convenient if not die only suitable place to bo found. If (his person, who as a stranger somewhat impertinently interferes in a matter with which ho has no concern, had been a resident, he would have known that the halls of that institution aw available for any public purpose of a respectable kind, if the promoters aro willing to pay the rent. In the General Committee promoting this movement, are Jews, Catholics, Atwlicans, Wesleyans, Presbyterians, Congregationalists, Baptists, and smite whose religion is only the religion of humanity, and who aro only actuated by a generous and chivairouf desire to redress a cruel wrong.—l am, etc., .1. Hexhy M.u'KiE, hon. secretary.
