DISTRIBUTION OF SCHOOL PRIZES.
—O ~ Vrv ■ PRINCE, ALBERT COLLEGE, The annual gathering of friends, parents, arid ; others, to witness the presentation of prises: to the scholars of Prince Albert College, took place last evening in the Y.M.C.A. Rooms,' The Rev. H. R. Dewsbury, President of thi | Board of Governors, occupied the chair, and ; presented the prizes. The affair was largely [ attended, and passed off with.unusual suc-j cess. Owing to pressure on our space, a ful 1 report is held over till Monday morning. ~ .•: PONSONBY HIGH SCHOOL. .-:Js| The prizes were presented to the successful; scholars by Mrs. Warrington. The work | done during the year has been very satisfaofactory, and good progress has been made by:. pupils. Special mention deserves to be mads i of the performances of Amelia Buck (whos« f. examination papers were highly spoken of),: Phyllis Metcalfe (who though but eight yean of age, passed with , flying colours in French). The scholars presented Mrs. Warrington wit) a very handsome photograph album, whick , when filled with photos of the girls, will be an excellent souvenir; also a-, pretty fancy jewel box, while > Noel • Middlemas presented Mrs. Warrington with a bouquet almost as large as himself. The girls intend giving an afternoon tea party early in January. The pupils who passed the forms mentioned below aro:—Form V.,, Amelia Buck, Nellie Wiles: IV., Edith Wine and Mary Reed 111., Phyllis Metcalf > and May Jones: 11., Charles Atkin and Daisy Bidelow; 1., Frank Dennes, Jessie Atkin, and Basil Middlemas.
_ ST. JOHN'S COLLEGE. _ . The distribution of prizesin connection with St. John's College took place yesterday. The Most Rev, the Primate presided, and there was a large attendance. The prize list and report of the proceedings will bo published in Monday's Herald,
KING'S COLLEGE, REMUERA. , The annual distribution of prizes in connection with the King's College, Remuera, took place last evening. The garden and lawns surrounding the College were tastefully illuminated with Chinese lanterns, the general effect being remarkably beautiful. The prizes were presented by the Rev. W. Beatty, who congratulated the headmaster on the excellent results obtained during the past year. Mr. Graham Bruco, the principal, briefly reviewed the progress made during the year, and thanked the teachers for their cordial support. A band was in attendance and provided excellent music throughout the evening. The sports prizes were distributed by Mrs. Duncan Clerk. A good musical programme was gone through, items bein) contributed by several leading vocalists. A detailed account, with prize list, will appeal in Monday's issue.
