THE MOUNT PEEL OPALS.
[B? TKLKORAPIt.— PRESS ABSOOIAIIOH.] v Wellington, Friday. The following is tbo copy of a telegram received by Mr. Cadman from Mr. Wilson, of the Mines Department, regarding the Mount Peel opals :—" Have just) returned from a visit to the Mount Peel Opal Mines. Have no doubt about the locality being opal bearing. Samples were taken out whilst I was present. The stones, although ot no great size, appear to be of a valuable kind known as fiery opal, whilst in two instances larger atones of a bluish nature were found."
