AUCKLAND. MES3BS. ALFRED BDCKLAND AND SOKS , WEEKLY REPORT. At the Haymarkets Maize, 2s sd; oats, 2a sd; barley, 2s 6d; wheat, 4s 3d bushel; chaff, £3 5s to £4103; Bundarra bonedust, £6 10s; Chesterfield guano, £3 10s ton. Maize on wharf, 2a 3d bushel. On Friaay horses, yarded numerously, were at late values, florsee with a ton trial brought from £12 to £17; with a spring cart trial, £6 to £12 each; a buggy, £5 sa. On Tnesday, hides in usual number. Ox hides kept their values, but cow hides were lower Id lb; ox hides were from 3Jd to 4}d; cow hides, 2|d to 3Jd: calfskins, 4d to 5Jd lb. Fat, |d to ljd j tallow, 11s 3d to 12s 3d ; bones, 3s 6d owt. Wool sheepskins, 3s to 4s 10d; pelts, 8d to Is; lambs, la to Is 7d. At Drury on Wednesday a full muster of cattle of all classes met a steady demand at current values. Grown steers were from £3 153 to £4 ss; dairy oow3, up to £4 17s (3d; dry cows, up to £2 15s j yearlings, £1 14s; calves, 14s to £15s each. At Remuera on Thursday dairy cows of fair to good quality were in better demand, those at profit were from £3 12s 6d to £6 each. Store cattle-in limited number were at lower values. Calves numerous, 83 sold, were at lower values throughout. Fat cattle numerous; 240 yarded but many withdrawn, were at last week's values; kindly steers were at 15s the lOOlbs. Sheep, in less than usual average supply, 1100 sold, were slightly better worth. Wethers were from 6s to 9a; ewes, 6s to 8s each. Lambs in full number; 493 sold; prime quality were from 83 to 10s 3d; inferior, from 5s upward. Pigs in short supply; 46 sold; well-bred porkers kept late values; coarse store pigs much lower in price. MESSRS. G, W. BINNEY AND SON'S REPORT. On Tuesday we cleared a good catalogue of hides, sheepskins, wool, etc. Hides sold freely. Picked ox, up to 7d; extra stout, 5d to 5U : stout, 4d to 4Jd; medinm,3sd to 4d; light, 3d to 3Jd', cow, best lines, to 3Jd; medium, to 3Jd: inferior, 2Jd to 3d; calf, free from cuts, to sjd: badly flayed, 2d to3d: stags, ljd to 2Jd; kips, few offering, sell at high values. Sheepskins: Prices were well maintained. Local green iur.l country salted longwools from 4s 9d to 6s 2d; crossbreds, 4s 6d to 5s 3d; halfbreds. 3s to 4s 8d j pelts, 9d to Is 2d: lamb's, from Is to Is Oil: the bulk of local and salted, at Is (id: dry, Gd to la each. Tallow, from 12a for good, to 17s for picked muttou. Bones; £3 5s for best dry. MESSRS. HDNTER AND NOLAN'S REFORT.

Grain, seeds, horsefeed: With the exception of maize sufficient quantities have been brought forward for requirements. The demand was steady for produce other than maize, which advanced in value fully Id per lb. We quote :-Feed oats, 2s 4d to 2s 7d; maize on wharf, 2s 2d bushel, ex store 2s 7d bushel; oaten chaff, £4 to £4 10a; bran,£3 10s ton, Horses: Again a good many have been brought forward, and disposed of without noteworthy alterations in value. The number submitted by auction at the Durham Yards was excessively large, and competition was fairly eood. We quoto:—Heavy draught, £13 to £1910s: medium draught, £9 to £13 103; light harness, £6 to £11 fis; hacks, £6 to £1110s; weeds, £1 to £2. Wool, Hides, Skins, Tallow, Bones: Average quantities wore pitched at the Durham Yards on Tuesday, and disposed of under good competition. We quote: Ox hides, medium weights, 3d to 4|d ; cow hides, 2Jd to Ittil; calf skins, 4d to sd; sheepskins, 3.3 to 6s sd; lamb skins, 9d to Is lid; pelts, Gd to Is Id; tallow, 103 6d to 11s 9d j bones, £3 7s Gd; wool, in bags and dumps, 5d toGJd; pieces, 2d to 3§d. Cattle: There has been sufficient for reqniremeuts brought forward, and sales were effected at the previous week's values for dairy and store stock, but for fat beasts prices were slightly in favour of the purchaser. At the clearing Bale of Mrs. E. Reed's live aud dead stock, held ;at Mauugatawhiri Valley, there was a large attendance, and everything brought satisfactory prices. At the New market Yards, on Tuesday, dairy and store stock were brought forward in limited numbers, but more than sufficient for requirements. We quote: Ox beef, 15s to 17s; dairy cows, £3 5s to £6. Sheep: The Newmarket Yards were well filled, and prices ruled a little better than last week. Wethers were from Gs Gd to 10s Od: ewes, Ss 9(110 ito Od; lambs, from 4s Oil to 10s 9d. Pigs: Only a few yarded, aud brought from SsGd to £11 Is 6d.

NEW ZEALAND LOAN AND MERCANTILE AGENCY COMPANY, LIMITED. Auckland Wool Stores, Wednesday. Hides and skins were in very full supply at our weekly sale on Tuesday use, Hides: The market is easier, with the exception of cow and stout ox, which are in keen demand. We sold prime stout ox, 5.M to 6Sd; heavy stout ox, 4jd to 5^(1; light and medium, 3Jd to 4Jd : cow hides, best lines, 3jj'J to 3§<t; kip, 2Jd to3Jd; calf, best, 4Jd to 5Jd. Sheepskins were about on a par with last week's rates. We sold large longwools at 4s 6d to 5s 7d: lambs, Iα to Is 8d; salted pelts, lid to la 2d; dry, 4d to 9d. Tallow : Medium rendered is worth 11s 3d to 12s Gd. Horse Hair: Is to Is 3|d; cow hair, 9d to 10d Ib, Oats: Market still firming, and price has advanced on last week's quotations to 2s 2d to 2s aid, c.i.f. Maize: Market still advancing, value this week being about lid better than last, viz., 2s 3|d on wharf. Chaff: Nothing new to report, the market remaining the same. STRATFORD AND HAWERA. The Egmont Farmers' Union (Limited) Hawera, report on December 10At Stratford on the 3rd inet. a large entry of stock came forward, bidding was cheerless throughout resulting in but few stock being placed at tho hammer, but we succeeded in placing soveral large lines before leaving the yards. We quote: 2J to 3 year steers, £3 to £3 7s; 18 months to 2 year steers, £2 0s 6d to £2145; 12 to 18-months steers, £1 63 to £1 18s; yearling steers, 18s to £1 4s; store cows, £1 83 to £2 Us 6d; springers, £2 5s to £4 17s 6d; 2-year heifers, £115s to £2 3s; yearlincs, mixed, 15s Gd to £1; sheep, cull ewes and lambs, 6s 9d. At our Glover Road yards on the Bth more cattle were yarded than advertised, but less number of sheep. The stock on the whole were of good quality, and although the attendance was large the bidding was slow with a general decline in prices for all kinds of cattle. We quote: Fat bullocks, £4 16s to £5 7s 6d; fat cows, £3 to £3 ss; fat and forward bullocks, £318s 6d to £4 10s; store cows, £118s to £2 6s; 1\ to 3-year steers, £2 18s to £3 10s Gd; springers, £3 to £4 2s 6d; 18-month to 2-year steers, £2 to £2 ss; yearlings, mixed, 14s to £1 Is; 12 to 15 month steers, £1 5s to £1 12s 6d; calves, 7s 6d to 10s. Sheep: Woolly hoggets, 7s to 7s 3d; fat wethers, shorn, 7s 8d to lls ; cull ewes aud lambs, 63 9d. On the 9th instant we held a clearing sale of dairy stock, etc., on account of Messrs. J. and G. Buckthought, on the Hunter Road. The cows were undoubtedly a good line, and elicited keen competition, resulting in satisfactory prices, as also did the sundries, etc. We quote: Dairy cows and heifers, £4 to £10 12s 6d; bulls, £5 2s 6d to £5 10s; horses, £4 10s to £19; calves, 5s to 10s 6d, pigs, £13s6dto £2129 6d. NORTHERN CATTLE SALES. • Mr. T. Wacelin's Report.—At Kamo, on December let, upwards of 600 head of cuttle were offered, and the greater part sold, those withdrawn being chiefly three-year-old steers in rather backward condition, for which the demand was more slack than for any other class of stock, Grown steers of good quality and forward condition were offered, and made up to £4 18a each; three-year-olds of good quality and condition made up to £3 las each; those in lower condition from £3 Ss to £3 103 each; two-year-olds, up to £2 ss; yearlings, £115s; young dry cows aud heifers in fresh condition up to £3 each; old, worn-out cows, las each; good calves, from 15s to £17s each. Beef, in excess of requirements, made los per lOOlbs; most ot the butchers being full, there was not much demand. - ;
