CHARGE OF PERJURY.
[by telegraph.— association.) Wellington, Wednesday. At the Magistrate's Court to-day Amos Burr, an elderly man, a settler at Palmerston North, was charged with having, on December 7th and Bth, during the hearing of the trial at the Supremo Court, Wellington, before Mr. Justice Edwards, in which Renata Hika was plaintiff, the accused and others being defendants, committed perjury by stating that a certain receipt then produced was signed in his presence and in the presence of James Robinson. Accused was also charged with having forced Ronata's signature —or mark—to the aforesaid document. Accused was committed for trial on both charges.
