VOLUNTEER INTELLIGENCE.
There was an unusually large muster of the College Rifles, who paraded last evening for their usual weekly drill, under Captain Major, and were drilled by Sergeant-Major Carpenter. ' • The Victoria Rifles also paraded, under Lieutenant Skinner.' After the usual drill a meeting was bold, when a sample uniform was submitted for approval. .The uniform is of a buff coloured oloth with 1 maroon .facings, the helmet also buff. The material, which : should be very serviceable, was manufactured at the; Mosgiol Woollen Factory. The. rest of the uniforms will probably arrive in February.• W ~ An enthusiastic meeting of the newly formed Hew Zealand Natives' Association Corps was held in the Drillshed last evening, the President, Mr. E. T. Ford, in the chair. The object of the meeting was the election of officers, the'following being elected:—Captain, Mr. E. H. Montgomery; 1 lieutenants, Highland and, Potters colour-sergeant,'East-gate; sergeants, Bernand, Craiir, Parker, aud Coleman. § The uniform selected was of dark blue cloth with searlet facings. ■ It was decided to bold:the weekly drill on Tuesday evenings. 1 / 1 " " :■'
