CORRESPONDENCE
THE CHARITABLE AID BOARD. TO THE EDITOR. Sib,—Allow me to assure "A Member of the Board" that I in no way _ "pulled "MercutioV leg" in the matter he writes about in this day's issue of your paper. " Mercutio" alone is responsible for coupling my name in the manner he has done in the paragraph referred to, so far as lam concerned. I think it is rather spiteful on the part ot "A Member of the Board" to suggest that anyone Would wilfully say anything, or lend himself to the evidently spiteful purpose of defaming the Board.—lam, etc., J no. Gordon. December 14th, 1897.

Personally, I may add that during an experience of more than 30 years my chief desire in playing accompaniments has been to conform to the rule so well expressed by. your correspondent,-I am, etc., 1 The Organist,
