The clerk was in-, structcd to order ten 24-iuch drain pipes for ' the completion of the culvert in Richards, street, as part of the abovementioned contract Mr. Geary reported on behalf of, the surface committee,' that certain repairs had been effected to the cattle shipping yard, and that the ordinary streets surface-work had been ■ done' during the month.' The' Chairman re- ; ported that all members•- had visited. the school grounds drain, and hadresolved to have ' the drain > taken; along the edge of the streets. They had also inspected the , , footpath near the Masonic Hptel,' and had v : resolved to have the ' same. kerbed , and i...v channelled with concrete or other durable material.
