She leaves for the Great Barrier at 10 o'clock to-night. ' The Northern Company's steamer Douglas arrived from Whangarei on Saturday with a cargo of coal. On Saturday morning the Tyser liner Star of England left for Napier to contniue her loading for London. The Union Company's steamer Te Anan left for East Coast and Southern ports on Saturday afternoon. Yesterday the scow Bravo arrived from Ngungnrn with 130 tons coal. The Northern Company's steamer Chelmsford left for Tauranga and Whakatane on Saturday evening. The Northern Company's Thames, Upper Thames, and Coromaudel steamers now berth and leave from the new jetty off Quay-street. At 10 o'clock to-night the Northern Company's steamer Ngunguru leaves for the town wharf, Whangarei. \ The barque Noma arrived at Port Chalmers from New York on Saturday night, after a passage of 115 days, The Sydney morning Herald says"Several of the homeward ships from Australia are in the overdue list. The one from Sydney, the Westgate, with a valuable cargo, and about which 15 guineas premium was paid a fortnight ago, has arrived after a passage of 135 days. There are some of the concentrate ships from South Australia' out very much longer. In the list are the Colbert, 180 days from Port 'Augusta, for Antwerp , Cynisca, 210 days, from Port Pirie: and the Tennos* seiin and Saiut Monan, all out long dates, The Vigil, from New Zealand, is 130 days out to London, and the Asterion, from Auckland, 125 days out to London ; but after the safe arrival of the Westgate being announced there is felt to be less cause for apprehension. • The barque Maria has arrived at Sydney from the Kaipara. . The barqnentine Handa Isle has sailed from Port Kembla for Auckland with a cargo of coal. THE MARAROA.— FAST PASSAGE. The Union Company's steamer Mararoa, Captain Edwin Phillips, arrived from Sydney yesterday morning, after a splendid run oi 3 days 14 hours. The steamer had a very full passenger list, comprising 156 saloon and 58 steerage for Auckland, and about 'JO in both classes for Southern ports. Throughout the passage an average of 14.3 knots per hour was maintained. Mr. A. C. Walker, the purser,' to whom we are indebted for our files, reports The Mararoa left the company's wharf, Margaret-street, Sydney, at 4.15 p.m., and cleared the Heads at 4.45 p.m. on the 3rd inst. Sighted the Three Kings at 2.30 p.m. on the fith; passed Tiritiri at 6.30 a.m., and berthed ac the Queen-street Wharf at 7.45 a.m. on the 7th. Strong westerly winds and fine weather prevailed throughout the trip. The Mararoa leaves for East Coast and Southern ports at 2 p.m. to-morrow. THE WAIHORA. •Yesterday afternoon the Union Company's steamer Waihora, Captain R. Neville, arrived from Southern and East Coast ports with a number of passengers and a quantity of general cargo. Mr. A. Murley, the purser, reports that the steamer left Dunedin on the 2nd instant, and called at Lyttelton, Napier, Wellington, and Gisborne, leaving the latter port at 10 a.m. on the 6th, and arriving at 3.30 p.m. yesterday. Experienced fine weather as far as Gisborne; thence strong head winds and heavy seas to arrival. The Waihora leaves for Sydney at 5 p.m. today. (TRANSHIPMENTS. By the Mararoa from Sydney yesterday transhipments ex Menmuir, Virawa. Australien, Ormuz, Oonah, Candia, Wodonga, Zambo, Rockton, Tsinan, from London, the Continent, China, Calcutta, and Australian ports, came to hand. The Waihora from the South yesterday brought up transhipments ex Rimntaka and lonic, from London, and Ben Nevis, from Glasgow. .
